Are You Making This Mistake?

I have a confession to make...I am a recovering "Do-It-Your-Selfer". Yes, it's true, I used to try to be "Super Woman" and do everything myself. I had big dreams and lots of goals but the harder I worked, the more frazzled I felt. Many times I did achieve my goals, but at a very high price!

A major reason that you aren't achieving your goals as quickly as you'd like is due to the perception that you just don't have time to do it all. Yet, sadly, you continue to try to do it all yourself! This deadly-to-your-dreams philosophy is softly killing your big dreams of success and fulfillment. The truth is you simply can't do it all yourself. Period. You cannot create blockbuster results (personally or professionally) if you are doing all the work.

You can try.

Most people do.

But there is a high price to pay. Your health, your sanity, and your happiness.

Pretty important stuff.

Have you ever considered what your time is actually worth? You decide this. What is your hourly rate? Whether it's 50 dollars or 500.00 dollars an hour. The fact is that your time is valuable. Very valuable. Now take an HONEST look at your to-do-list. Does your list reflect items that could be outsourced to someone who you could pay a fraction of your own hourly rate?

One of the smartest things I ever did (besides marrying my husband) was hiring my bright, young assistant. Sarah is still in high school and works for me part-time. Her work list looked somthing like this last week: mail packages to UPS, purchase computer ink, add new contacts into my data base, download mp3's onto my ipod, fill out an insurance claim form etc. etc. etc.

Could I have done all these tasks myself? Of course.

Is it the best use of my talents, time and legacy? Of course not!

Be smart. Achieve your goals. Learn to outsource!
